Dr. Garland transitioned from surgical training to the business world in 2020, when she joined the Boston Consulting Group as a consultant. There she worked in the medtech, biotech, and pharma practices, and during COVID supported their internal epidemiological work, as well as public sector COVID response efforts.
With a strong background in global public health, she has worked internationally, developing academic research projects in Cambodia and India. Dr. Garland has also supported the Clinton Health Access Initiative’s work to better understand global health commodity market shaping practices.
Dr. Garland earned her BA from Johns Hopkins University, her MPH from UC Berkeley, and her MD from Tufts University. She trained in general surgery at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center and completed her postdoctoral research at Stanford University.
